**Milieudefensie ignites a 15-metre-high flame at Shell Headquarters***
Milieudefensie [Friends of the Earth Netherlands] lit a 15-metre-high
flare today (3 May) in front of Shell headquarters in The Hague to
protest against Shell's flaring of gas in Nigeria. In the production of
oil, gas is released which is ignited by Shell. This causes huge flames
that pollute the air. People in the Niger Delta become ill and harm is
done to the climate. Milieudefensie wants the flaring of gas to be
stopped immediately.
